Beach Cottage

Beach cottage is a self built house completed in 2016, the owners did all the design and detail drawings.

The design and drawings took a year ,then building with a carpenter a further two years. The house was written up in self build magazine May - August 2016. The homes initially generated far more energy than required until the immediate neighbour redeveloped and shaded the solar panels!

Energy rating 97/100 SAP points.
High emphasis on air tightness in construction.
Heat recovery ventilation 
Solar panels ( 37% loss due to adjacent development)
Immersun for hot water generation May to November 
Room sealed wood burner
Underfloor heating ( never used)
Rain water harvest ( yet to be commissioned)
