Halland Rise

 This 1960s bungalow had no insulation, single glazing, and a gas boiler when purchased in 2022. It was draughty, too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.

The full refurbishment and extension created an all-electric house. All the external elements are insulated to exceed building regulation standards by up to 50% . Heating requirement is minimal from the digital electric radiators. PV panels and batteries further reduce the running costs.

Cross ventilation from carefully positioned windows and rooflights means no overheating. The west facing garden shed is highly insulated for all year-round warmth.
